Abstract

Bryozoans constitute a prolific but poorly known faunal element in most of the Upper Palaeozoic strata in North Greenland. Commonly bryozoans are the dominant fossil group, and occasionally their skeletons are rock-forming. Faunistic and taxonomic investigation has established the presence of at least 21 genera, representing all five Palaeozoic orders of Stenolaemata. However, estimates ofspecies diversity cannot be made until completion of a thorough re-evaluation of species concepts in all the groups present.
